Rosaries
If you've come to this page, then you probably already know the amazing power and grace that comes from praying the rosary. When praying the rosary, it is easy for outsiders to think that we simply repeat the Lord's Prayer, the Glory Be prayer, and, most of all, the Hail Mary prayer. A deeper investigation, however, reveals that although our mouths are reciting those prayers, our minds and hearts are meditating on the so-called "Mysteries of the Rosary" which recount the life of Jesus Christ.
The Latin term rosarium, from which we get the word rosary, can be translated to "garland of roses." Indeed, the rosary is not unlike a garland of roses, and we even carry rosaries that are hand-crafted by nuns from actual rose petals. Catholics currently have four sets of mysteries to pray with: the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and—thanks to John Paul II—the Luminous mysteries.
